BSc Biomedical Sciences with Drug Mechanisms Stream

As the president of UCL Immunology Society, I am responsible for running all events, seminars and lectures and ensuring that we meet our goals as a society to promote knowledge relating to Immunology as a subject and field. I am particularly interested in the subject of transplant immunology and the treatment of infections for those who are immunocompromised. In my spare time, I love analogue photography, knitting and crochet, quilting, as well as writing. I am also a volunteer at STEAM:Ed collective for the Monday Science Podcast and Project Access.

BSc Biomedical Sciences

Vice President + Treasurer

Hey everyone! My name is Cat, and I am a second-year BSc Biomedical Sciences student from Vancouver, Canada. When I am not rushing to finish my assignments, you can find me doodling on Procreate, reading Tarot cards, or Facetiming my mum! Through working as the lead student representative with my programme as well as organizing events for the UAEM at UCL, I believe that there is a dire need to spread awareness for immunological research and autoimmune diseases. As the Treasurer, I hope to lead fundraisers to spread awareness of notable illnesses such as AIDs, Vasculitis, and more. It is now more important than ever that we are actively discussing these topics, and I look forward to working with everyone to dive deeper into their passion for the vast field of immunology.

BSc Biomedical Sciences

Media and Technology Officer

Hello :)I’m the other Ivan in this committee and I also happen to have been raised in Spain, but my family is originally from China. I am really interested in film photography and movies (my favourite movie is ‘Dog day afternoon’). I’m also a Student Curriculum Partner at UCL, helping to make module curriculum more inclusive to black, asian and minority ethnicities. My role in the UCL Immunology society will be managing all the social media pages, including this one, as well as creating content of interest. Thus, if you want to ask us any questions, feel free to DM us, or me!

BSc Neuroscience

Welfare and Academics Officer

Hey! My name is Ivan Andrushevich and I’m a second-year neuroscience student. I was born and raised in Spain but my family is originally from Russia, hence the unpronounceable surname. In my free time, I volunteer at UCLH, enjoy video games, and play incredibly bad chess! I’m also the lead student representative for the NPP division, which is essentially a welfare and academics role, so I’m experienced in this field and will do my best to provide you with all the resources you may need. If you need any sort of help, you can always reach out to me through the Immunology Society facebook group or through our discord server. Hope to talk to you soon!

BSc Biochemistry

Outreach Officer

As the Outreach Officer, I am responsible for establishing relationships and partnerships with individuals within our target audience, organization, and professors/researchers from other universities to inform and help students pursue internship and/or placement opportunities within immunology. Besides being a penultimate year BSc Biochemistry student, I am also a Bioscience Course Representative at UCL and Clinical Biochemistry Researcher at University Health Network in Toronto, where I’m investigating autoantibodies biomarkers in neurodegenerative diseases and effects of COVID-19. Further, I regularly volunteer at Southlake Regional Health Center, where I conduct retrospective chart reviews on electrolyte replacement and infection rates in patients suffering from various cardiac diseases. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, drawing, reading, and exercising (particularly soccer, skiing, and tennis).

BSc Biomedical Science

BSc Pharmacology

Events Officer

Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer Lee and I am a year 2 pharmacology student. I was born and raised in South Korea, but moved to Canada when I was 13. I often play violin or enjoy watching sitcoms during my free time. (I’m a big fan of things that make me laugh!) I am the events head for the immunology society and will be planning all further events. I’ll also cooperate with the liaison officer to create events that involve other societies at UCL. If there is anything you are interested in or curious about, please let us know by messaging us on facebook or instagram. Looking forward to hearing from you all :)
